About the image

“A window into her world” was created with natural light only and nothing else. Images were taken later in the day around 4pm in March. Light is still low in the sky and fairly soft. I used the horse as a reflector to light her face just a bit. The horse was diagnosed with a terminal tumor and could not be startled or agitated in any way. Therefore no modifiers, scrims, flash etc. I typically shoot with OCF and this was nerve-wracking for me. I needed to capture the emotion and relationship of their 14 year relationship and the heartbreak of his final days. Happy to provide more information if needed.
