Shot in a closed hotel bar after a class with this woman who liked my work and asked if I would take her portrait as she never had a picture taken of her that she liked and she “had a good feeling about me.” The lighting was a small, gridded softbox illuminated by a single Nikon SB800 flash to her right. I gave her the microphone as a prop – something I always carry in my kit – and said, “Lady, sing the blues!” She laughed and I shot three frames. This is #2.
