About the image

Genre:
To create colorful shadows, I positioned Miranda against a white seamless paper backdrop, standing close enough to produce distinct, hard shadows. I then set up strobes, each fitted with a colored gel, arranged so that their lights mixed to create near-white at the center. (FYI – had I used Red, Green, and Blue the center would have been pure white). The colored gels were placed to ensure that each shadow was tinted by the opposing light’s color. For instance, with a blue gel on the strobe to the right and a yellow gel to the left, the shadow cast by the blue light was tinted with yellow.
