About the image

The model told me she wanted to do a shot with clouds. I wanted to make it different than what I saw others doing. I placed string lights, and every constant light I could find under a ton of fluff. I had the model roll onto her shouders for the shot—so for all the main lights I had to think of everything sort of backwards and position mains so that her legs wouldn’t block light from above and leave her face in darkness, or make her feet the hot spots. For the final, I flipped the photo upside down to look like she is falling from sky.
