About the image

We used a cheap jungle backdrop from Amazon for about $40. I used a Joel Grimes beauty dish to the left slightly at a 45° angle, a Westcott 400 FJ with barn doors to simulate sunlight coming into the jungle on the background and fake plants from the Fire Station where I work, without hitting the subject, and a hair light placed very high up in the back to the right. Carladean had styled her hair a particular way and I wanted to highlight the braids. Diffusion on the beauty dish. The entire set was designed for her nephews – but she ended up wanting an Indiana Jones portrait.
