About the image

Genre:
This session is a blend of fashion photography and cultural homage, inspired by Día de los Muertos, Mexico’s iconic celebration of life and remembrance. My vision was to capture the elegance and spirit of this tradition through a fashion-focused lens, blending traditional symbolism with a dramatic, studio-crafted aesthetic. Collaborating with a team of skilled makeup artists, we paid attention to each element, from wardrobe to makeup, capturing a look that reflects both the fashion and the mystique of the afterlife. Lighting played a crucial role in bringing this vision to life. We used four softboxes with grids to control light direction, preventing spill onto the background and establishing a controlled, moody atmosphere essential for this style of fashion photography. To create separation and depth, two stripboxes were positioned to produce rim lighting that outlined the model, enhancing her presence against the backdrop
