This was from a recent wedding in Cancun that was held on a rooftop by the pool. The wall behind them is the swim-up bar’s wall, which was closed for the night, but as soon as I saw the lights and the patterns on the wall, I knew I couldn’t leave without doing a photo there. It was super difficult to get this shot, since the reception was going on full blast to camera right and I was all the way across the pool. The couple couldn’t hear me and my assistant holding the light couldn’t hear me. We mostly used hand signals and gestures to refine the posing and get the light where it needed to be. The shot was lit using a Godox speedlight with a Mag Grid and Mag Sphere. One of the unedited photos from this set that shows how it was lit.
