About the image

Genre:
I recently did a Morticia Addams inspired shoot that involved a creepy set build and elaborate lighting. This image however was created at the end of the shoot as an additional bonus, I usually try to improv after accomplishing my planned goals, and I was very happy with the result. This photo is two exposures back-to-back, one for the models pose, and one where I had her place her hands in a creepier position for the shadow. They were combined in post for a fun spooky effect, and some additional editing was done to make the hands a little more menacing. Lighting is a single Godox DP 600 strobe with no modifier, set about 20 feet away and 10 feet high in order to create the angle and hardness in the shadow that I wanted. I photographed this on my studio’s cyc wall from the top of a ladder about 11 feet high. The final image has also been censored for social media.
