About the image

The bride changed into a black gown after the wedding ceremony so I took the couple to the front lawn of the venue at sunset to get an epic shot in front of the castle (Lexington, KY). I initially brought and planned to use OCF, but with the soft light coming in from behind me on camera left, I loved the way they were naturally illuminated. For a prop, I brought a black cathedral-length veil to toss and had the groom hold the bouquet to break up the all-black attire. I also dropped in a sky in post-production to add more color & drama, as I envisioned this image to be chosen as their large wall print (which it was).
