Three off-camera-strobes were used. One was centered behind the subject. The backdrop was Thunder Gray as it handles gel colors very well. After a variety of gels were used, the tan-like tone was the subjects preferred color. The lighting modifiers for the front lights were soft boxes (one on each side of the photographer tilted inward by approximately 20 degrees. The third light was placed behind the subject with no softbox.
