About the image

Genre:
This was shot at a destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta. When we got to the resort, I saw this water feature and I knew I HAD to get a shot there. The only problem is that it was pretty far from the ceremony and reception location. When the reception was over, I asked the bride and groom to give me 5 more minutes of their time before they continued on to the after party. To get this shot, I had to position them in an area that was pretty much pitch black and I had to stand inside the water feature about 25 yards away. My assistant held up my 26″ Octabox while also lighting them with a phone just so I could focus! I also had a gelled speedlight to light the back wall and give a bit of separation. I don’t have a BTS shot, but have included a photo from the hotel’s website that shows the water feature and I’ve labeled where I was positioned for the shot.
