About the image

The client wanted an image on Westminster Bridge in front of Elizabeth Tower. Since this is a busy street, I had the camera on a tripod and set a longer exposure time to blur the people in the background. This naturally positioned the couple with the sun slightly behind them and to camera left, and created a natural hair light. Once I had my shutter speed set to blur the tourists out of the image, I set my f-stop to expose for the background and capture the sky. Then, I used a ProFoto A1 bare bulb to camera right and elevated to illuminate the couple.
