About the image

Urban fashion shoot with Shutterfesters Kayla (IG: kaylaperkins1992) modeling and Callie Compton (IG: calliecocouture) providing the flying skirt. Intent was to do a split-screen image that was warmer and cooler based on shadows created by the buildings in downtown St. Louis. I shot the image less than three feet away from Kayla, in order to minimize lens distortion of the model. Lighting was a handheld Profoto A10 with an attached Profoto Clic Gel, Half CTO in an Adorama Glow Hexapop 24″ Octagonal Softbox. The A10 was handheld camera right, intended to illuminate Kayla and balance the warmth of the sun hitting the skirt’s fabric camera left. Post work done using Capture One and finished in Photoshop. DxO Viewpoint 4 was used to quickly correct perspective with the buildings.’
