Jess Hess

Jess Hess is a professional fine art and conceptual portrait photographer in Dayton, Ohio. At her Wurmwood Photography studio, she blends vibrant colors and unusual ideas with classic portraiture for her own unique take on portrait photography. Her home and studio are located in a 100+ year old church (called Castle Morningstar) situated in the middle of a graveyard, making her client’s experience unique from start to finish. Jess has won multiple international awards, has been featured on the front page of many prominent photography websites (Fstoppers, OneEyeLand, Flickr, Etc.), has been featured in a number of publications, including the cover of popular comic book series “Vampirella”, and came in second place in Season 1 of Behind the Shutter’s “Creator Series”. Her photos have been featured in ads, articles, and magazines all over the world. She spends her spare time educating other photographers, renting out her space to local artists, making costumes and props, and hosting photographic events in the “castle.”
