I’m a big Alice in Wonderland geek, and I finally had a chance to create my Red Queen look and shoot it at SF23. I wanted my overall look and lighting to be as over-the-top as the character I created, but keeping it within my style of dark and moody with bright punches of color. I placed a Westcott FJ-200 low behind her with red cellophane to give some red edging on her clock-hand crown, her shoulders/neck, etc. and glowing through her blonde hair. I also had a Westcott FJ-400 to my left, with no modifiers, punching through with a nice hard light to her right side, for more drama and creating some nice shadows from the cage skirt.
