About the image

This is an image of my son. I was trying to see how far I could push my lighting with a new strobe I had gotten. My goal was just to get rim light but I wanted it to be purposeful. I wanted to see just the outline of his face. He has some strong features and I wanted to capture that. I used my 7′ umbrella with a diffuser on my Godox DP400III directly behind him. Then I had my reflector in front of it with the black side facing my son. I had my son sitting facing the left and I had him sit right in front of the far left of the deflector so the light from the strobe would just catch the edge of his face.
